First up, California-based green coffee trading company Royal Coffee Inc. has earned the Regenerative Organic Certified (ROC) seal from the Regenerative Organic Alliance. This certification is a significant achievement and highlights Royal Coffee’s commitment to sustainability. In other news, the president of Guatemala has reported that China has suspended shipments of coffee and other goods from Guatemala due to diplomatic tensions with Taiwan. This development underscores the complex relationships that can impact the coffee industry on a global scale.
The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) has announced that its Coffee Value Assessment (CVA) tools are now available on two digital platforms, making it easier for coffee professionals to access and utilize these valuable resources.
On the competition front, the Mexico Cup of Excellence saw a record eight farmers winning the “presidential award” for coffees scoring 90+. This is a testament to the high quality of coffee being produced in Mexico.
